Alan Alda and empathy…

April 30, 2021

I was listening to the amazing podcast “Hidden Brain” on Spotify and Shankar Vedantam was interviewing Deborah Tannen, author of “That’s Not What I Meant”. I recommend readers listen to this interview and read Dr. Tannen’s book for some eye opening research about our communication styles. During the interview Shankar referenced an interview with Alan Alda and shared a quote that I thought others might also appreciate. Alda said, “The more empathy I have for other people the less annoying I find that they are.”

I wanted to share with you today one of the motivational sayings posted in the gym where I work out. Enjoy!
